Well, after I posted this, I realized that my favorite CD shifts depending on my mood (do I want all Celtic, or a merry live version of their songs or ???). But I have to say that ER's version of Wild Mountain Thyme stops my heart everytime. . .and my daughters and I always end up dancing to Merry May Folk or chanting with Freya Shakti... It is lovely to have so many favorites! (And Vampire Girl from Orn -- hehe!)
Peace, Cim (I cannot wait til the Oscar party in Feb. I will ask the guys to play Merry May Folk. I'm hoping to see Elves and Hobbits dance the Macarena to it!!) |

I love them all, and it depends on my mood. My favorite song is World's Wedding or the Pict's Song (right now anyway! Subject to change....) |

Oh, I love Pagan Girl! Had actually never listened to that one until I got Bending Tradition. This weeks faves: penny in the well and world's wedding.
(Braggy mom moment: i love it that my kids love ER as much as I do, my daughter actually requested Never Underestimate last week, and my eldest, who is branching out to fiddle, wanted to hear ER's Lord of the Dance -- she just got that music and Tar Road to Sligo -- can't wait to hear HER play!! I fantasize about hearing her jam with ER -- it could happen, in some lifetime peace, cim |

I can't name a favorite - I love them all!!!! But Freya Shakti would have to be at the top of the list, along with World's Wedding - which we played at our wedding!!!

Fire in the Head. Which has one beat, not two.
*one of the over-enthusiatic footstompers/clappers* I love Urania Sings, not on a cd yet, and Dagger of the Moon. Castle of Arianrhod is my current fave. It's already cost me $35 in translations of Celtic texts....... |

I had heard it's one of the more difficult languages to learn...

My fave song totally depends on my mood. But I would have to say Freya Shakti and Dagger Moon stand as all time highs.

New music | ||
|
Hello all! I had the good fortune to be in the auditorium last night when the guys from ER were doing sound checks -- and we are going to be so lucky! Even the sound check sounded good --we are going to have some new songs to fall in love with! Can't wait until tonight, Oscar Party madness has arrived -- whooohoot!
Signed, Mad Hobbit waiting |

musical magic! | ||

The band WAS GREAT!!!! Unfortunately, during the first set, they sounded much better on the feeds around the building than in the main hall because of the horrible acoustics in the main hall. [Dorian Mirth also suffered from the same mushy sounds.] The sound technicians pulled it together somewhat for the second set, but it was just not an optimal location for music.
I finally got to hear Urania Sings, and it is most beautiful -- as is Come to the Dance. And yes it is true, Billy Boyd came out all by his lonesome and sang a love song to Jean, using Logan's guitar. Will it be enshrined now?? ER won over everyone at the party, I heard nothing but praise and lovely comments about how wonderful they are. Also, I've heard from several people that they caught ER on the webcam feeds on TheOneRing.net -- and that they looked very good and sounded great on the feeds. Whooooot! Could world domination be at hand? |

update to Oscar Party | ||

OK, i stand embarrassed -- it turns out Billy Boyd wasn't on stage alone, but had some sort of musical back-up. (From where I was sitting, i couldn't see a tv and only caught glimpses of the young man!) Pictures are being posted by TOR.n staffers on www.theonering.net as you read!
