What a great show! Thanks to you all. Everyone on the floor was enjoying the music immensely (and sweating profusely...). You guys are the best....I'll be watching the schedule to see when you'll be in or near Nashville...would love to see y'all play again.

So tell us!!! Was it as glamorous at it seemed? Did you see any stars? Lots of people there? How were they dressed? How was the food... I could go on and on but I think you get the picture...

I dunno about glamourous, but it was quite an impressive party. Everyone was either very formally dressed, or in fantastic costumes (i wish i'd have worn the latter...makes for much more dancing fun). I did see John Rhys Davies, but didn't approach the group mobbing around him. Too busy at the bar, I was
The food was good, and some of it was even VERY good....but the company was better. Being surrounded by so many friends, with wonderful music...couldn't ask for more...(except maybe another glass of wine....heh) There were around 1100 people at the party, and the main room, where the dance floor was located, was packed...cramped jigs....lol. It was heaven seeing so many people just having a blast...and we were Sabrina *information upon request, details for a small mug, hand drawn stick figures will require a pint* |

I heard some of the hobbits got up on stage and did a few hobbit band numbers, is it true?

Hobbits on stage | ||

What a night and what a great party!
The hobbits did indeed pick up some of the instruments on stage, which made Larry worry a little, I think, but they didn't actually play any of them! Billy and Sean especially picked up almost every instrument. As the stage began to fill up with all the actors who showed up, I began to worry that they would actually move the band's equipment out of the way! This party was so much fun, and the setting was fantastic. But for me, the highlight wasn't the Oscars or all the actors who showed up -- but the music. I had never heard Emerald Rose before and I am now addicted! Unfortunately, I live all the way on the other side of the states, so I don't know when I'll get to hear the guys play live again. I am going to learn to jig before next year!! I have been e-mailing everyone I know at TORN, begging them to invite Emerald Rose back next year! (Maybe we should start an e-mail campaign!!) Peace, your mad hobbit pal |

I bet NightDancer remembers this (and it was sooooo wonderful meeting you at the Party!!), but during the second set, Larry launched into a rendition of "Concerning Hobbits." The crowd went quite mad at that, and there was much joyful screaming and hooting! I didn't hang around and watch for actors as they came into the HAC (many of them were coming in while the music was playing for one thing), nor was I in the main room when they all came out on stage! I found myself off in a side room, and was able to watch from a more mellow location. Well, it was a lovely evening, and I can't wait for next year! I hope to meet more ER fans then!

2004 PARTY! | ||
|
Well, things are ramping up for THE party. Last year was a warm-up, apparently. This year it's a media spectacle of pretty massive proportions.
They'll be webcasting, and y'all should put your $.02 in on how and where; visit www.theonering.net and click on "Return of the One Party" Webcast Survey. Who's got their tix out there? Assuming life treats us favorably, we'll have our new "Songs for the Night Sky" release ready and shipped, and each attendee will get a copy -- plus we'll have this limited edition CD available via our website. Don't know if the hobbits will be dancing around with our instruments this year (that pretty much gave us some near coronaries last year...) but we've got lots of new music to boogie down to, and we're more excited than we can tell y'all about the opportunity! -Larry the mad whistler |
